WASHINGTON - Police are investigating a bomb threat at a parking garage near the United terminal at Washington Dulles International Airport.
First reports about a problem came through just before 9 p.m. as people on Twitter began expressing concern and asking questions while several passengers called into WTOP.
The terminal was evacuated, but the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority (MWAA) says it's now reopened. Daily parking garages were closed however while police investigated.
MWAA also says that contrary to early reports, planes were not evacuated. However, a spokesperson tells WTOP travelers flying to and from Dulles are encouraged to check their flight status, as several flights were delayed.
By 9:50 p.m., MWAA said terminals, runways and flights are operating normally, but the daily garages remain closed.
On Twitter, @DCairports (MWAA) shared status updates for travelers as initial reports poured in.
This is a developing story.
