Two people have been killed in a house fire in New London, according to Mayor Daryl Finizio. The fire started at a home on Blinman St. around 8:30 p.m. Friday.
Firefighters went inside the home and found the body of a woman. They also pulled a man from the home and performed CPR. He was transported to Lawrence and Memorial where he was pronounced dead.
It took firefighters about 30 minutes to knock down a majority of the fire, but crews remained at the scene to deal with hot spots.
State Police are now taking over the fire investigation.
