FEDERAL WAY, Wash. -- Authorities arrested a Washington state man and swept his apartment complex for explosives on Tuesday evening after e-mailed threats were made against President Obama.
Federal Way Police identified the man as 31-year-old Anton Caluori.
A Secret Service agent and Federal Way Police went to the apartment at about 2 p.m. after threatening e-mails were intercepted. When they got to the front door, the agent and the police officer were greeted by a man armed with two guns. There was a brief skirmish and Calouri was taken into custody.
Caluori made a statement about explosives, so the bomb squad was called in.
A fourplex was evacuated as a precaution while the bomb squad searched the apartment. No explosives were found.
Emily Langlie, a spokeswoman for the Seattle U.S. attorney's office, said the threats had been sent to a general government email address.
