NEWTON FALLS, Ohio- Newton Falls police are still trying to figure out why a local man allegedly shot and killed four people and then himself.

It all began at noon on Friday after one of the victims called 911.

Newton Falls police responded to a home on Trumbull Court as a five-year-old boy who had escaped the shooting ran to his aunt's home nearby.

Rikki Cogley, 42, his wife, Kathy Cogley, 39 and Kathy's teenage son, Everett were all found to be shot dead.

Police then began searching the area after witnesses said two men left the scene driving an older white Dodge Intrepid.

Then after a brief standoff with police at the Newton Township Cemetery on Ridge Road, the suspect, identified as Robert Brazzon, 55, shot himself in the chest and died soon after.

Not long after that the body of a woman was discovered just a few houses away from the first shooting.  Police were called to 604 Apt A, Newton Drive, which turned out to be the suspected shooter's address.

Newton Falls Police Chief John Kuivila told 21 News, "The same person that was involved in the shooting over on trumbull court is the same person involved in this we're assuming at this point. that's his residence where the second shooting took place it appears his girlfriend in the house is deceased there same type of gunshot wound."

The woman was identified as Tracy Engler, 39.  Police believe Brazzon shot her first and then moved on to the Cogley's.

Authorities say they have also apprehended another possible suspect on Broad Street who may have been involved.

"The initial information given in the initial photographs we were able to obtain of the vehicle, it appeared there were two people in it so we're questioning somebody else regarding the case," said Kuivila.

Police aren't saying what came out of that questioning or if the person is in custody.

Authorities are also not speculating on a motive for the shootings.
