Update at 5:45 a.m. - Officials with DCH confirm 17 were shot in this mornings shooting in Tuscaloosa. Of those 17, one is in critical and 3 are in serious condition.

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WVTM) - The Tuscaloosa Police Department has confirmed that multiple people were shot overnight.

Sgt. Brent Blankley, with the Tuscaloosa Police, said the shooting happened around 12:30 a.m. Tuesday at Copper Top bar.

There's no word on exacly how many people were injured or the conditions of the victims.

However, Sgt. Blankley confirmed that DCH on University Blvd. is on lockdown in order to handle the number of victims involved in this shooting spree.

As of 5:00 a.m., police do not have a suspect in custody.
