According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR), a UK-based rights watchdog and anti-government activist group, 40 people have died in today's violence in Syria so far.
In Aleppo, four civilians are dead, the group said. Three of them died in shelling in the neighbourhood of Fardous and artillery fire in the Maysaloun neighbourhood.
In Deraa, 11 people were killed, five of them in a Palestinian refugee camp in Deraa city, the group said. Syrian forces attacked the camp with heavy artillery fire after armed rebels attacked a police station, the SOHR said.
Nine Syrian security forces were also killed in today's violence, the rights group said.
