A Delta Air Lines plane at Chicago's Midway International Airport was grounded and quarantined Thursday afternoon.
Delta flight 3163 landed shortly after 3:30 p.m. but passengers were unable to deplane. It originated in Detroit about an hour earlier.
Department of Aviation spokeswoman Karen Pride said crews were called to treat a passenger with an unspecified medical issue.
From the sky, NBC Chicago's helicopter could see the aircraft on the ground at Midway's gate A7. It was surrounded by medical and emergency personnel. The jet bridge was not connected to the plane.
Midway remains open.
NBC Chicago has placed calls to Delta and the Centers for Disease Control.
