At least 9000 people are without power in Wichita, Kansas; significant damage reported after tornado hits - @KSNNews

WICHITA, Kansas -- A large tornado moved through south Wichita around 10 p.m. Saturday night.

There have been reports of significant damage.

McConnell Air Force base has hangar damage, and a building at the Spirit Aerosystem's plant has collapsed.  KSN Meteorologist Leon Smitherman is on the scene at 31st Street South and Oliver.  He says you can see insulation hanging from the power lines.

The Oaklawn area of Wichita is labeled as a crisis area.

Mid-Continent Airport there have been reports of hangar damage.

Near 47th Street South and Clifton, three homes were damaged.

So far, we are hearing of no reports of injuries.

Emergency vehicles are all over south Wichita.

Officials urge people to stay home and not to sightsee.

At least 9,000 people are without power in Wichita.
