EVERETT, Wash. —
Fumes have sickened 12 people -- causing headaches and dizziness -- in a hazardous materials incident at Everest College in Everett.
Ten of those affected have been taken to a hospital, says KIRO 7 Eyewitness News North Sound reporter Lee Stoll, who is at the scene.
Stoll says about 200 people have been evacuated.
Firefighters have done two sweeps of the building and have not found a source of the fumes, Stoll says. The school has a dental class, but there is no lab that would have gases or hazardous materials. The school will be closed for the rest of the day.
Chopper 7 video shows firefighters and medics outside the college at 906 Everett Mall Way. There are multiple fire engines and medic units. Groups of students are sitting outside.
