Searching for 'iPhone 5' on Apple.com site brings up 2 links containing the name - @WSJ

For anyone doubting that Apple will name its sixth generation iPhone the iPhone 5, here’s the strongest clue yet.

Searching for “iPhone 5″ on the Apple.com website this morning brings up two links whose addresses contain the name. One is rather blatant: “Apple-Introduces-iPhone-5″

The links aren’t live but we’re guessing they will be once Apple reveals the iPhone at an event starting at 1 p.m. ET.

So unless Apple is just trying to throw up a smoke screen, the new phone will get the “5″ label.

We know, we know — this isn’t exactly a big surprise considering Apple hinted at the name in last week’s media invite, which showed a number 12 casting a shadow of the number 5.

But several tech blogs have bet that Apple would lose the numeral naming convention as it did with the iPad. Last year’s fifth generation iPhone model was widely expected to be called iPhone 5, but Apple instead went with the iPhone 4S name.
