KABUL, Afghanistan (AP) -- Police say a motorcycle bomb outside a crowded bazaar in northern Afghanistan has killed at least 10 people, including several children.

The blast brought the death toll to at least 46 in a bloody day for Afghanistan, after as many as 14 suicide bombers were involved in attacks in a southwestern city.

District police chief Hamid Agha says the motorcycle bomber struck in the early evening in the northern province of Kunduz as shoppers were rushing home for the meal ending the daily fast for the Muslim holy month of Ramadan. He said five children were among the dead and at least 25 people were wounded.

The police chief of southwestern province of Nimroz said the death toll in the earlier multiple suicide attacks there has risen to 36.
