CHEONGJU, South Korea, Aug. 23 (Yonhap) -- One worker was killed with 13 others injured Thursday after a storage drum containing toxic waste exploded at a factory owned by LG Chem, South Korea's leading chemical maker, police and firefighting authorities said.
The explosion occurred at around 10:16 a.m. when a storage drum filled with flammable liquid waste exploded at LG Chem's organic light-emitting diode (OLED) materials plant, which was newly built here in Cheongju, 137 kilometers south of Seoul, according to local police.
