Medal-less Lolo Jones "crushed"

(CBS/AP) Lolo Jones will be going home from the London 2012 Olympic Games without a medal.

The American track and field athlete, who stumbled out of contention when gold was just about hers at the Beijing Games in 2008, placed fourth in Tuesday's 100-meter hurdles final.

"It's my season best, so it's the best I could do. But obviously I'm crushed," she said after the race.

Sally Pearson of Australia came in first place, getting an Olympic record and a gold medal.

Two of Jones' teammates did make it onto the podium - Dawn Harper won silver, and Kellie Wells earned a bronze medal.

Pearson was left to wait a while after crossing the line before the big screen showed she had beaten Harper by just .02 hundreds of a second with a time of 12.35 seconds.

Pearson let out a huge scream when the time flashed up and fell to the ground, crying, finally getting Olympic gold after finishing second four years ago.

Wells finished the race in 12.48.
