Canada recalls Daniella-brand mangoes because of possible Salmonella contamination - @CBCCanada

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency has issued a warning about certain Daniella brand mangoes because of possible Salmonella contamination.

Certain Daniella brand mangoes have been recalled by their importer following warnings of a possible Salmonella contamination. (Canadian Food Inspection Agency)The mangoes from Mexico and were sold at stores in B.C., Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Northwest Territories, Nunavut and Yukon as individual fruit with a sticker bearing PLU. 4959.

There have been several confirmed illnesses associated with the mangoes.

The Salmonella bacteria can cause serious and sometimes even deadly infections.

The importer, North American Produce Sales of Vancouver, has recalled the affected mangoes and the CFIA is monitoring the recall.
