New Delhi: Rajesh Khanna, 69, was admitted to Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai this afternoon. Mr Khanna has been ill these last few days. On June 21, he was said to have stopped eating. He was later reported to be "more than fine" by son-in-law Akshay Kumar. The reason for Mr Khanna's ill health is not known.
Worried fans lined up outside Mr Khanna's Bandra home, Aashirwad, on June 21 when he was reported ill. In the afternoon, Akshay Kumar said "He's more than fine. He is absolutely fine. Thank you for your concern,". Mr Khanna himself appeared on his balcony, visibly weak and wearing dark glasses, to wave at his fans and give them the V sign.
Mr Khanna was accompanied by Akshay and ex-wife Dimple Kapadia who has been nursing him while he's been ill. While Twinkle is expecting her second baby, her younger sister Rinke has flown down to Mumbai to be with her ailing father.
Mr Khanna's last health scare was in April this year, when he was hospitalized for a couple of days.
