Maryland had a wild Friday afternoon, as the National Weather Service has confirmed that seven tornadoes touched down in the state as severe storms rolled through the region.

Three of the twisters were in Montgomery County, while the other four touched down in Anne Arundel, Harford, Carroll and Prince George’s Counties.

The strongest storm was in Harford County, where it caused around a million dollars in damages.

Fortunately, there were only a few injuries reported, and no fatalities.

The National Weather Service says they could confirm more tornadoes as they investigate more damaged sites.

Friday’s storms knocked out power to thousands in the area, but crews have restored electricity to everyone affected.
