Pop star Justin Bieber is being investigated for possible battery against a photographer following an altercation at a California shopping center, according to reports.
The LA Times said Los Angeles County sheriff's detectives are examining claims by the photographer that Bieber struck him after he took pictures of the 18-year-old singer and his girlfriend, actress Selena Gomez, at the Commons at Calabasas mall.
It said the photographer complained of pain and was taken by the Los Angeles County Fire Department to a hospital, where he was treated and released.

Entertainment site TMZ reported that the photographer asked to file a police complaint naming Bieber as the culprit. It cited unidentified law enforcement sources.
The site published an undated picture apparently showing the singer confronting a photographer.
Both sites said Bieber’s representatives did not immediately respond to messages seeking comment.
