A manhunt is continuing in Brighton for a suspect police want to speak to after the body of a man was found in a flat.

Detectives investigating the murder are searching for Carlo Dawes, 34, of Bevendean, Brighton, in connection with the death in Taunton Road.

Paramedics and police were called at about 05:20 BST on Saturday but the man, who has not been named, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The flat was cordoned off while a forensic examination was carried out.

Det Insp Phil Mays said: "This is a tragic incident involving a small number of people who we believe were acquainted.

"We are keen to talk to Carlo Dawes in order to eliminate him from our inquiries."

He added: "Although the suspect is outstanding we do not believe he is a threat to the wider public and we have committed a large number of resources in the hope of finding him soon."
